Area of Interest: How does the brain mediate reward and
motivation ? In order to study this question I use behavioral and neurochemical monitoring
techniques in rats and I also use transcranial magnetic stimulation in
humans. I've developed a special magnetic coil for stimulation of deep
brain regions related to the reward circuitry and plan to study the effect
of such stimulation on depression and addiction.
